by most historical accounts, this is the very first freight piece. Done in the Bronx in 1974 by P-nut2 and Tracy 168 i was not able to find a prototype of the yellow herald, but did a little research and learned the yellow herald had the 10' door and this has the 8' door. but im thinking (hoping really) the colors were similar. i entered this in a graffiti contest back in 1998. when i found out Sento TFP was in the contest too, i didnt even bother trying to do something nice - just wanted to get up at that point. first job of course was to disassemble and prime. since this is G scale, i just used 0.98 walmart primer. krylon cherry red for the coating. it was all real easy up until this point. it took me quite a while to find G scale decals that match. finally i found a guy in Canada that had them in dry transfer. When i contacted him he said this wa his last set..whew!!

carefully tracing the pieces on masking tape i decided to cookie cut the fillin...since the original pieces had no 3D to hide mistakes i was trying to be extra careful...still kind of f**ked it up but not beyond repair...which is one of the touch ups i have to fix now. acrylics mixed to get as close as possible to safety green was kind of a bit*h too.. so, currently i got the outlines up but i still think i need to redo it because i cant tell from the original flik if the outline is black or dark blue - possibly regal blue krylon.. more to come......

Nice, very nice

I also entered that contest in 1998 if that is the same one
the green looks like the OSH green but I don't know about the outline.
